Asher
Welcome to Camp Asher!
Ten-year-old Asher is a big fan of camping and the beach, so this month we decided to skip the indoor studio and head to the Oregon coast!
Before we began his session, Asher changed into his custom, cozy, camping sweatshirt from Hood and Pine Boutique and new beach crocs. Then he posed with his new camping gear as he settled into Camp Asher.
Asher brought his parents and two sisters with him, and we loved getting some photos of them in front of our campsite and on the beach.
The wind was in our favor for some kite flying, so his sisters helped Asher get his kite up in the air for him to fly. Dad stayed by his side and was a constant support for him.
We came back to the campsite, made a camp fire, and sipped on some hot chocolate, but unfortunately, some sneaky seagulls found their way into our mini marshmallow stash. Thankfully, the jumbo marshmallows were spared, and Asher and his family enjoyed toasting some up for s’mores.
With a belly full of hot chocolate and s’mores, Asher gave us a thumbs up of approval. There was SO MUCH joy radiating from his sweet smile and disposition.
We finished by posing in front of our inspirational word banner. Asher proudly showed off his muscles and gave us the most charming smile you’ve ever seen.
We absolutely loved getting to meet Asher and his family. His dad shared this with us:
“Our first look at the setup for the photo shoot was a bit overwhelming. It was incredible; far more than what we were expecting. The campsite was amazing and all the women who were helping out were so kind. We all really felt loved. It was a joy to see God working in this very unique way to love one's neighbor. It was wonderful to bow our heads together before leaving so that we could give all the thanks and glory to God.
My wife and I were really impressed and encouraged by how you incorporated the whole family. It is often the case that the siblings of a disabled/sick child are overlooked. That was simply not the case with you all. Thank you so much for making them feel loved also!”
We would love if our ROHP family would join in praying for this sweet family - for peace in the unknowns and for joyful moments amongst the hardships they are facing with his diagnosis. Each ROHP family is so special to us, and Asher’s family was no exception.
Special thanks to…
