Theodore
This is our soccer star, Theodore.
Our 10th Ray of Hope Portraits session featured 7-year-old Theodore, soccer star and cancer fighter. Theodore was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2022 and is on track to finish treatment this December.
This soccer-loving kid brought his own fan club to our session today, including the most adoring and attentive parents, and four younger siblings who loved cheering him on and helping him feel brave.
We started the session by changing into his personalized soccer uniform and bringing him to our first set with artificial turf and giant soccer ball backdrop.
This humble kiddo showed off his handsome smile, amazing soccer skills, and some fun tricks too. After all that, we couldn’t help but give him a trophy for being our soccer star. Theodore’s strongest supporters are his family, and we loved capturing some sweet moments with his biggest cheerleaders.
We moved onto our second set with balloons and a goal. It brought everyone such delight to see the joy on Theodore’s face throughout this session
For our final set, Theodore changed into his personalized Hood and Pine t-shirt, and we celebrated how far he has come with soccer beach balls and confetti poppers.
We ended the session by praying over the family and eating donuts Theodore’s family brought for all of us to enjoy. They were such a warm and friendly family, and the studio was filled with SO MUCH LOVE.
After the session, Theodore’s mom shared this with us:
“From the moment we arrived it felt like we’d known you all for years! Everyone was so warm and welcoming. The way people jumped right in to play with the little kids and offering to hold the baby was so joyful. I could hardly believe all of the thought and effort that went into the details of the shoot. It was so much more than I’d imagined and I was floored. Theo can be a bit timid in new situations and you all made him so comfortable and brought out his real smile all morning! Having you all pray with us at the end was a huge highlight for me. It gave the whole morning such an added depth bringing Him into the space. We can’t thank you enough!”
What a sweet time together, honoring and celebrating a family that has endured so much. Their eyes are on the finish line of treatment in December, and we can’t wait to celebrate with them!
